Church Isn’t For Me

aboutMy favorite church is the Central church in Amarillo. I can list numerous reasons, but will not bore you my “over shoulder reader,” with my bias rationale. how can I help

Allan Stanglin leads the church pulpit. A constant in his vocabulary is to proclaim, “Church exist for the sake of others.”

A late elder of the Central church often reminded me the most dangerous past time of any church is navel-gazing.  The idea of staring at one’s own belly button seemed a strange picture coming from the mouth of a godly church leader. belly button little girl

I suspect church division would suffer a setback if we could give the church back to Jesus and see it as His body living in our lost world—not for my gratification—but for the sake of others.

To spend energy being Jesus for the sake of others should make most disagreement on how to do church disappear from current conversation.

We might find out that loving Jesus for the sake of others would do away will our reasons for not loving each other.

It’s rather hard to admit but church is not for me to get my way — rather Jesus place it on earth for the sake of others.please help

Stay tuned.
