GodReflection: Power Words
The view of high-mountain lakes in the Andes left me in awe of God created beauty. I think of views in the Rocky Mountains where I stood mesmerized at the grandeur of God.
Likewise, oceans, grand rivers, and deserts stand witness to the beauty and power of Creator God.
At times God blessed me with communion on the Pathway of Nature. It is a path I appreciate.
However, my wiring does not pull me toward nature as a primary means to enter God’s presence.
Yet, some disciples do feel the draw of the Nature Pathway. They walk it in communion with the Holy with such ease. They experience relationship with God through the outdoors. They agenda time to be in city parks and walk botanical gardens.
Should they have their way, they would never allot vacation time to visit grand cities and amusement parks. Their dream vacation is to sit for hours in an aspen meadow.
They set an alarm to be present as the dawn starts to change the morning horizon to bright yellows and reds as it morphs into a bright ball of warm light.
They lovingly tolerate those on the thinker trail, the expressive path, and those in their intellectual walk. Although appreciative of other’s wiring patterns, they are attune closest to God within his pristine creation.
Scripture share the example of King David who walked with great familiarity the Nature Pathway. He often used the imagery of heavens, earth, and sea.
He wrote and sung of jubilant fields and trees of the forest. He recognized the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
He used moon, stars, birds, fish, herds, sheep, and wild animals as expression of the power and wonder of God. Surely, sleeping under the stars as a boy caring for the family sheep made nature a pathway of contact with Almighty God.
Father God,
Thank you for those who make the effort to spend focus time with you through the Nature Pathway.
By so doing may their hearts move closer to you the Creator of all.
May they see you through your creation.
As they are enriched, may they in turn serve your riches to others.
In the name of Creator of Nature, I pray.
Amen
Stay tuned.
