GodReflection: God the Nurturer
Father God’s Architect Resume is rather impressive. His animal boat, portable worship center and temple are all grand projects. Their designs catch the attention of us created types.
However, those architectural pace-setters—even though they have my complete admiration—are only celestial “Lego projects” when compared to the Holy’s creation week.
In the thousands upon thousands of years since, his human ones are still unable to reproduce the Eternal Architect’s blueprints. From an infinite mind and Holy blueprints, he spoke into existence his creation projects.
For reasons I still struggle to comprehend, it seems his mankind center piece was the finale to the creation work of heavens, earth, vegetation and animal life.
From a heavenly blue print:
The Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7).
And then to complete the task:
The Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man (Genesis 2:21-22).
The underlying theme of this series of posts is nurture comes from the Holy. It is an attribute that flows from God.
Wouldn’t it be logical to assume the designer knows the specs?
Why should I think that God who designed, engineered and gave me life would not be the one who understands what is required for my sustenance?
Since God is the source of nutrition how does his food get to me? What do the specs call for to feed me with eternal sustenance? On my own I don’t know what I need.
As powerful as the human brain might be, the truth is only Creator God knows and understands my specs. God Knows exactly what I need. Father, Son, and Spirit know how I can tap into Holy nutrition.
Because the Holy Designer knows my specs. He knows how I am made. He understands what I need to grow more like Him.
