In reading through II Samuel again, I am struck at all of the revenge going on. David was a man after God’s own heart, but for some reason, God permitted the revenge David took on others, even in God’s name.
I don’t have an explanation, nor am I theologically qualified to examine the stories in certain detail, but I am thankful for Jesus who shows us how to love our enemies. Some thoughts came to mind as I meditated on this thread.
I think of how many are friends today because of the bonds in Christ and how many wars have been averted because someone chose to obey Christ.

As for the concept of the just war, I am glad when a nation seeks to protect itself or another nation that more bloodshed may not happen.
I must not only be on guard, but in Love with God and feel His Love deep within my soul as often as possible. My aim is to constantly fill up my soul with God’s Love and make my best effort to respond with the Love He’s given me.

My confession is I have fallen short, but the good news is His forgiveness continues to captivate me.
I want to thank each of you who read GodReflection and pray for those of us who write. I pray that any good thing you read you know comes from God, and anything other, is something I need to grow in. So with that said, I also thank you for your gentleness if something should come across as other than God’s goodness and compassion in my writing. I desire that God alone be glorified and that His Spirit fill these posts to overflowing.
As for this war on the corona virus, I have to believe that God as well is fighting on our behalf and is urging me to continue praying for leaders and not give into the fear that can come from such an unseen enemy.

It’s no wonder some of the greatest saints wore patches of holes in their knees, and some in the ground from having prayed for all that was going on around them.
And it’s no wonder we have a Savior that spent entire nights talking to God on His and our behalves, and still pleads our cases before the Father faithfully.
Amazing!
