Jesus took our Stripes

A tiger cannot change its stripes, an old saying goes.

Or can he?

The saying implies we cannot change our character or personality and are “boxed in” as it were into these dynamics.

But if that were true, why the need for parents, schools, correctional institutions, training programs, church?

We are not tigers.

We are people, God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works (Ephesians 2:10).

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (II Cor. 5:17/KJV)

We all have stripes, and without Christ, we’d have to wear those stripes. But because of Him who took on our stripes, we are changed.

Amazing!
