GodReflection: Is Grace Still Amazing?

It’s been awhile since I last posted on God Reflection. Like others in my “more mature” years, my wife and I find we are at the point on life’s trail where our not-so-good genes flash more than just a little light of caution. A lot of years have passed since the spring of youth was our reality.
I find myself re-reading God’s promises. In the process, at the core of my being, I feel the stir of anticipation of a pain free eternal body ready to explore life on God’s cleansed earth under a renewed heaven.
Over the past several months I have backed off from writing while dealing with glaucoma surgeries and other age issues. We continue to be blessed. God is good and keeps his promises.
During my down time I found myself deep in reflection on the magnitude of God’s grace. The hymn that we sang in our churches across the last decades of the 20th century written by the late Jewel Whitey Gleason gets at the awe I want to burn at the root of my soul.
Deeper than the ocean and wider than the sea, Is the grace of the Savior for sinners like me; Greatest of treasures and it’s mine today, though my sins were as scarlet, He has washed them away. His grace reaches me and ’twill last thru eternity.
Over the next few weeks, I plan to bring some of those reflections together under the umbrella of “Is Grace Still Amazing?”
I invite you to read over my shoulder once again and share your own insights as together we contemplate our grace state in both good times and especially in days filled with challenges.
Stay tuned.
