GodReflection: Holiday Season 2021 and a New 2022.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
Thank you for reading with me across our year of 2021. My desire for each of us is that along the way we found ourselves in deeper water sustained by His Spirit.
I trust we come to the Christmas Holiday Season as followers of Jesus who are grateful for His Birth, sustained by His Kingship of Love, always ready to increase our trust and celebrate His Promise to bring Peace on Earth.
As we reflect over the past year, I hope we all discover blessings too numerous to count. At the same time most of us experienced the loss of fellow travelers who passed into eternity. And disappointments came our way. We praise God for
our blessings while we trust Him with our challenges and our loses. We celebrate the holidays with confidence it all makes sense in Jesus our Lord who will return to restore and complete Peace on Earth.
May your Holiday Season and the new year overflow with gifts from the Holy.
As 2022 begins, I invite you to join with me to mine anew the ever-open invitation to Talk With God. I want to reread God-conversations recorded in Holy Scripture and perhaps look at sample prayers of men and women across church history as we seek insights to more intimate conversation with the Holy. I suspect conversation with God is a lot simpler than perhaps we were led to believe.
That should get our year off to a good start and help build toward several other ideas I hope to explore on the GodReflection blog over the course of 2022. Should God’s Holy Eternity break in and interrupt the year so much the better!
Hope you will join with us and invite others to join as together we reflect on God our Holy Creator and attempt to grow in our relationship with Father, Son, and Spirit.
