Come With Me As I Launch GodReflections

I invite you to go with me as I launch a new site on September 1.

A life of purpose is God-centered and lived between tensions.

The first third of my life I majored in learning. The second third of my life I majored in doing. In the final third of my life, I am concentrating on being.

However, life is not lived in categories. Picture in your mind three points of a triangle attached by rubber bands.  Point one is learning. Point two is doing. Point three is being.

The tension on the rubber bands is constant.  Over the first third of my existence, learning was dominate and stretched the rubber bands away from doing and being. While focused on learning, I was still growing through doing and beginning to take small steps toward being. In the second third of my life, doing was dominate and placed tension on learning and being, even as progress was constant in all three areas.

It is now the time of my life to focus upon being. To reflect upon being is to reflect upon God. I will still learn and do, but my major focus, as I see the sun moving toward the horizon, is to be.

I am going to try to be bold and allow you to look over my shoulder while I attempt to look into my own heart and mind as I reflect on God in anticipation of moving toward my own life’s finish line.

There is a deep longing in my soul to reflect on God and his desire that I experience his ultimate and eternal good. I want to know God more and more as a friend because I believe that is how God wants to know me.

I invite you to join me on the journey here at godreflection.com. Let’s spend a short amount of time together on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays reflecting upon what is of ultimate importance. – Dr. Gary Sorrells

  1. Gary,
Thank you for the invitation. I have always admired your learning abilities and your drive to do and accomplish. I now look forward to your mentoring in being during my last stage of life, as you are only a few years older than I. May God continue to spread the influence of your sweet aroma of Christ. Duane
