God of Love

God loves me more than I can possibly imagine.

This may be the world’s most difficult concept to accept and even harder to understand. Oh, it is easy to say the words declaring God’s love for man. Neither words—nor brilliant brains—can mine the depth of God’s love for His man creation.

After Satan messed with the garden, man and woman demonstrated a depth of evil beyond imagination. A cursory scan of the books of Genesis and Exodus cause me to wonder how it was possible for God to love humankind. The remainder of Scripture only gets worse.  The Bible is graphic, showing no limit to the potential for violence and evil in men and women.

From my local, to national, to international 24-hour newsbyte world, I run the risk of becoming callous to the influence of evil around our globe.  Over diverse media, I have witnessed decades of mass shootings in our own nation, the hateful national political and religious dialogue, the destruction from all sorts of evil cravings, the destruction from addictions our society no longer considers evil, and other forms of wickedness too numerous to count, and too graphic to repeat. How could God possibly love us?

Years ago, one of my professors wrote a book with the title “He Loves Forever.” In fact, God does love forever. That is who God is.

I don’t understand why God did not completely purge the earth of his unfaithful creation. Then I reason, God being God, he could not compromise his nature of love. He had to give his creation a second chance.

As a God of love, to combat Satan’s  garden contamination, he devise a plan to restore man and woman, his most precious of all of his creation. What else could a God do who loves so deeply?

What are your reflections? Stay tuned.

  1. I want to thank each of you who walked with me through the first week of GodReflection. Daily, I find the more purposed personal reflection of God’s eternal purpose and his deep love for me, helpful to my own soul. I trust you are beginning to feel His great love for you, even more so than in the past. I am encouraged by your response. – Gary Sorrells
