GodReflection: Power Words
Blessed is certainly a God word.
It is a frequent resident on the pages of Scripture.
Blessed is so closely tied to God that I cannot understand how blessings work anymore than I can comprehend how God works.
In Scripture and in life I see both the good and the evil blessed with material goods. I see material goods withheld from good people and from evil people. I am not aware of God ever justifying His actions.
Whatever I receive of life’s riches, I want to glorify God by feeling blessed. Certainly, I have no clue as to the whys of the haves, and the have-nots, among believers, nor among disbelievers.
However, there is a “blessed,” that God goes into a great amount of detail to explain. He blesses the poor in spirit. Anyone who admits to poverty without God is ripe for blessing.
God pastes this blessed across the back and the forehead of everyone who hangs onto the hand of Jesus.
Thankfully, it has nothing to do with my status in life. It matters not if I am rich or poor. I don’t have to look good. I don’t have to follow health gym religion. I don’t even have to possess health.
I am to enjoy blessed. It is my identity. My trust in the blood of Jesus makes me blessed.
Simply knowing that I am blessed powers my walk today.
I don’t have to cure cancer, preach to packed stadiums, solve world hunger, or outdo Paul in missionary journeys to receive the “blessed” stamp from God.
As I open my eyes each morning, blessed powers the day.
I carried a stack of vocabulary cards during the days of language learning. On one side of the card read the English word “door” and on the opposite side of the card read the Portuguese equivalent “porta.”
A bundle of fifty cards bound together with a strong rubber band aided my daily learning progress.
It occurs to me vocabulary cards are a great visual reminder of power words. Each day I can visually flip through my power vocabulary cards. On one side of every card is the word “God.” The opposite side of today’s card reads “blessed.”
May it appear in my stack of power words as a word I never want to forget.
Stay tuned.

My Esteemed Brother,
Gary, it occurred to me after being so richly blessed by this glob of wisdom in your blog that you would leave the world a much better place by having these in a daily devotional book form for the general public.
Stay blessed my brother,
