GodReflection: Power Words
This GodReflection came in the middle of the night. I don’t know if it was the late chicken enchiladas, my middle of the night trek to the bathroom, or the Spirit tapping me on the shoulder.
There I was, now fully awake unable to sleep.
The lyrics of an old Fanny Crosby song popped into my mind and I could only lay there with my mind at full throttle:
To God be the glory, great things He hath done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done.
Fanny Crosby wrote To God Be the Glory Great Things He Hath Done, around 1872.
As the author of some 8000 songs—the blind poet born in New York in 1820—lived to be 94 years old. The church continues to worship God through her poetic gift after a hundred plus years.
I want to make God’s glory a more powerful word in my life. Glory is the expression of God’s holiness. It is the descriptor of God’s presence.
All of the great power words I seek to guide my walk line up behind and in line with God’s glory.
It is because God loved the world and through the great act of giving me His Son, that Glory must set my life’s dial. The Son freely went to the cross. He spent three days in hell to bear my sin. Jesus opened the door to God through resurrection so I can live in restored fellowship with the Creator forever.
It is time to rejoice. It is right to keep at the forefront of my heart that I stand within the sphere of God’s glory.
To God be the glory great things He hath done—and I am a recipient.
Stay tuned.

Amen! “To God be the glory great things He hath done—and I am a recipient.” Thankfully, I am one too. Be blessed today and find a way to bless someone else!
