Can God Break Into Churches?

GodReflection: God Breaks In Monday

garyguarujaThis post is sort of a “what if” post.

My premise is that Creator God has carte blanche when it comes to good. He will not—nor cannot—act in any way that fails to be in harmony with His nature.

God is good. God equals good. All authentic good is tied to God.

I want to hold that thought and return to it in a moment.

Now let me surface a second reality.

churches3No human being—nor any one assembly of believers—gets everything right when it comes to God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We as human beings fail time and again in our thinking even as we struggle to know God and how He desires us to be.

All around the globe imperfect people recognize the Creator and grapple with how to give Him worship.

Now for the thought that is a stretcher.

churches1Throughout the world in villages, towns, and cities, stand houses built to provide a place to worship the one true God the creator of the universe.

The name on their house of worship may be different than the name on my worship place. Their worship practice may differ from my worship practice. Like me, they lack a perfect understanding of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Is it too much to assume others worship God to the best of their understanding? Is it too much to allow God to be the judge of their hearts and actions?

Now, let me return to my premise of a carte blanche God when it comes to good.

How would God’s world change if each time I happen to go in front of a house of worship—regardless of the name over the door—I would speak a prayer to Holy God from my heart?

Father God may your goodness flow into the world from the hearts of the people who gather to worship you from this place. In the name of your Son—who died and was raised for them—and for me, Amen.

churches5Is it just possible that God would open avenues through a diversity of churches who worship Him to provide an even greater good to bless His world if only I would ask?

Is it just possible that Holy God breaks into churches to create good in ways far beyond my understanding?

Stay tuned.
